Three years if someone asked me if I wanted a pair of trainers I would have made a scrunched up face and said something along the lines of: "I have owned trainers since Primary school." The truth was, I didn't. Aside from my chunky Nike gym trainers, (which I made sure no-one ever had the privilege of seeing) I couldn't conceive how a pair of sneakers would fit into my style.
Fast forward a few years, and several sports luxe collections later, the androgynous sporty look is all I can think about. I am not talking about the all Kappa tracksuit of the nineties teams with a pair of Reeboks, no. I am talking pure, hard core, minimalist, leather trimmed, sports inspired luxury - because that is what it is. And I am obsessed.
Thanks to the likes of Calvin Klein Collection, 3.1 Phillip Lim, Stella McCartney, Balmain, Givenchy and Alexander Wang (to name a few of course) all I can think about is how I can team a fancy pair of trainers with just about anything. So yes sports luxe shepherd, add me to herd.
