On the Road: An Agent Provocateur Valentines

Nothing says 'I love you' like lingerie, well in my opinion anyway. Even when I find that I don't have deep enough pockets to purchase a £750 Jean Paul Gaultier x La Perla bra (bargain), doesn't mean I don't dream of it or visit the Selfridges lingerie department often enough just to get a feel (as creepy as that may sound).

The truth is, I just love a good pair of pants with a cheeky bra to match. SS13 which no longer feels like miles away has been given a twist by the daring Agent Provocateur where a vintage Mercedes is just as sexy as the collection itself. The campaign 'On the Road' (note the Jack Kerouac novel), starring supermodel Crystal Renn pays homage to infamous American road trips taken as show in classic films. The idea of nostalgia and vintage plays a large part in the overall theme that looks as if it is preparing you for a middle America road trip - a pitstop at a gas station is of course a must.

Shot by Olivier Zahm, founder of Purple magazine, the campaign captures the countercultural vibe of 60's Americana tied in with the unrealistic notion that you probably wouldn't be on the road with just your knickers on. Zahm manages to present Renn as a power bitch kind of feminist, the kind of woman we all want to feel like when putting on an Agent Provocateur set, not mention the innuendoes that a gas station represents.

Say goodbye to the pretty innocent boudoir lingerie and get on out there, because who knows who you will meet at your local BP (try and make it a romantic as possible). Reminiscent also of the seventies rock n roll style, Renn's retro glam is representative of a woman who is strong yet assured and always in the drivers seat.

Happy V Day!
